Guardians of the Galaxy 1&2 | Worth the Hype? #3

Did you already figure out that I love me some Marvel? To be honest, my bestie got me so addicted, so please don’t get super annoyed at all the Marvel posts that will probably come your way. The end goal is always happiness, okay?

I am dedicating this post to both of the GOTG films, because I just recently watched them both and I am not disappointed! I kind of skipped the hype of watching the first one and I am kind of glad I just watched it with the Vol.2 just coming out on Blu-Ray.

The first film introduces us with all the Guardians – Gamora, Peter, Groot, Drax and Rocket and naturally introduces us also to their allies (Nova Prime and Yondu) and nemesis (Nebula, Ronan). I really liked the chemistry between the characters and the film reminded me a bit of the first Avengers film with the way the characters interacted and became a team. My favorites are definitely Groot, Gamora and Nebula. The ending of the first film is heartbreaking and you must be very lucky if you’ve missed spoilers for it and watching it for the first time really broke my heart.

The second film gave more insight into the relationships between the characters and the friendship their built while working as a team. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Gamora and Peter, how protective everyone is of Groot, Rocket’s quirkiness and the vulnerability of Nebula. I love watching badass characters show some vulnerability.

In the second film we also meet a new villain in the face of Peter’s father and we get some insight on Peter’s past. What I didn’t like about this film was how Drax treated Mantis and I hope we see more of them in the next films.

Personally, my favorite is Nebula and I definitely think they can explore her storyline more and I hope we learn a little bit more about her in Avengers: Infinity War and Guardians:Vol 3.

The cinematography, cast, acting and stories are really good in both films and it’s really interesting to watch the characters grow and interact. The second film is really well done and funny and I think it’s hands down one of the best films of 2017.

Both films have a bit of heartbreak in them too, but what is a Marvel film without heartbreak?

The Guardians are due to appear in Avengers: Infinity War and I’m super excited for it.

I rate both films at 5/5 stars and they are definitely some of my favorite MCU films.

PS. I still have yet to watch Ant Man and Spider man:Homecoming.

Have you seen the Guardians? Did you like them?
