The thrilling sequel of the Beauty and the Beast retelling is full of plot twists, heartache and adventure and I loved every minute of it.
The review might contain mild spoilers.
Despite the broken curse, the future of Emberfall does not look bright. There are rumours going around that there is a missing heir, a child that would bring better days to the land. Even with Harper at his side, Grey is still missing and that leaves room for grief and doubt in Rhen.
Grey has been on the run since he destroyed Lilith. He had heard the rumours that he is the missing heir and he has no desire to challenge his brother or take over Emberfall. That is, until Emberfall is threatened by Syhl Shallow – where will Grey’s alliances stand?
What I liked about the book: I absolutely loved getting to learn more about Grey and seeing his struggles and his own character development, as well as growing into his role was truly fascinating. I loved the introduction of Lia Mara too, the quest that they went on and Grey’s new family. I look forward to seeing what will happen in the next book and I hope my heart is not too broken after it because A Heart so Fierce and Broken definitely upped the game of the trilogy and I hope that the finale gives us everything we need for closure.
What I didn’t like about the book: Yes, most books need to have the toxic character but honestly, I still don’t like Rhen and I can’t stand his lies and overall behaviour.
A quote: “Choices are never easy. There are good and bad options, but the most dangerous is to not make any choice at all.”
My rating: 4/5 stars
